At Some Point, This Becomes About More Than Exercise If you’ve been following along, you’ve probably started to realize something: This isn’t just about workouts. It’s not just about:
It’s about who you see yourself as. I Never Saw Myself This Way There was a time in my life when I would have never—ever—seen myself as someone who competed in bodybuilding, much less being a professional competitor and judge. Not even remotely. That identity didn’t exist for me. And yet… With the encouragement of a few people around me—people who saw something I didn’t yet see-- I began to step into something different. Not all at once. But gradually. What changed wasn’t just my body. It was my perception of what was possible for me. We Are Often More Limited by Our Imagination Than Our Capability Most women are not limited by what they can do. They’re limited by what they believe is:
We create quiet boundaries like:
Sometimes it takes:
But This Also Requires Honesty At the same time, this isn’t about fantasy. It’s about awareness. If someone is significantly deconditioned in their 60s… Yes, a tremendous amount can change in 5 years. But it’s also true: That same level of change could have happened faster with earlier action. This isn’t about regret. It’s about clarity. Because where you are now: Still matters. Still has potential. Still deserves investment. You Can’t Build Toward Something You Can’t See Think about it like this: No one buys a house they can’t imagine living in. You have to be able to:
Your body is no different. Some women have never taken the time to consider SPECIFICALLY: What do I actually want my body to feel like? What do I want it to look like? What do I want it to be capable of? So the focus becomes narrow:
It’s your:
It’s Not Just Who You Become—It’s How You Live When people think about changing their body, they often focus on the outcome.
👉 Who you are in the process I had a personal training client who, for years, avoided the gym completely. She had negative experiences in the past and genuinely disliked being in that environment. She would have been someone who said: 👉 “That’s just not me” But when she decided to change, she didn’t approach it halfway. She made a very intentional shift. She decided: 👉 “If I’m going to do this, I’m going to be a gym head. When someone sees me, they will see a person who is totally at home in the gym. ” Not just by:
And what changed was not just her body. Her:
👉 Her relationship with the process changed The moments that used to feel uncomfortable… Became the moments she began to appreciate. You Have to Envision the Lifestyle—Not Just the Result This is where many people get stuck. They can imagine:
What does it look like to be someone who:
What do your habits look like? Because the identity shift is not: 👉 “I will become this later” It is: 👉 “I begin living this now—at my current level” The Process Is the Transformation The result is a reflection of the process. Not the other way around. When you begin to:
Not instantly. But inevitably. This Is Where It Becomes Real When your identity includes: The way you live. The way you think. The way you engage with challenge. That’s when change becomes sustainable. Because you’re no longer chasing something external. You’re becoming someone internally. Inspiration Is Not Comparison Some women look at others and feel discouraged. Others look and feel inspired. The difference is not the image-- 👉 It’s the interpretation Looking at another woman’s physique is not about becoming her. It’s about understanding: What is possible for a human body. What direction resonates with you. From there, you create something that is your own. This Isn’t Always About Appearance For some women, the shift is aesthetic. For others, it’s not. It may be about:
And if appearance doesn’t matter to you… That’s worth asking about, too. Not critically. Just honestly. Because if you are going to invest:
This Process Will Change More Than Your Body As you begin to shift your identity, other things may shift too. Your:
This is not unusual. It’s what happens in every major stage of life:
Fitness is no different. Except this time: You are choosing the change. The Goal Is Not to Become Someone Else It’s to become: More fully yourself. Not a version shaped by:
This includes:
And also: Allowing yourself to expand beyond them. This Is a Choice You don’t have to do this. You can stay exactly where you are. But if you feel that pull-- That sense that there is more available to you-- Then this is your opportunity to explore it. Not perfectly. Not all at once. But intentionally. What Comes Next Once you begin to see yourself differently… The next step is understanding your body more clearly.
